
The Chinese company BYD has launched its third electric vehicle in Japan and is attempting to Find traction in a market dominated by hybrids and domestic brands.
The Seal electric sedan went on sale on Tuesday for five.28 million yen ($33,100). The battery capability is 82 kilowatt hours, the corporate said. There will probably be a reduction for the primary 1,000 units sold. A model with four-wheel drive will cost 6.05 million yen.
BYD’s sales have been subdued since entering the Japanese passenger automotive market, where the corporate faces a recovering popularity of hybrid vehicles and loyalty to domestic brands akin to Toyota Motor Corp.

Establishing a presence in countries like Japan is becoming increasingly essential as Chinese electric automotive manufacturers face growing hostility in North America and Europe.
