The latest Pan Am aircraft revives the golden age of aviation

Under latest ownership, Pan American World Airways has announced the primary of a series of planned themed tours commemorating its heyday.

For a long time, the Pan Am brand and its distinctive blue and white logo symbolized the thrill and elegance of the golden age of aviation.

Even after the airline ceased operations in 1991, memories of its attentive service, gourmet meals, impeccably dressed crew and spacious seats remain.

Historical itinerary inspired by the past

Now Pan Am is able to take off again. The maiden voyage can be a 12-day commemorative cruise that can be limited to only 50 guests.

The trip can be hosted by Craig Carter, CEO of Pan American World Airways and owner of Pan Am Brands. The flight will include a round-trip flight from New York City to Europe with stops in Bermuda, Lisbon, Marseille, London and Foynes, Ireland.

“Since 1927, Pan Am has left an indelible mark on the world. From humble beginnings as the first commercial carrier for the U.S. airmail, Pan Am’s founder Juan T. Trippe built a vast aviation empire around the world, literally bringing the world closer together with every flight,” says Carter.

Carter understands that relaunching the brand is an ambitious undertaking that requires a respectful balance between its storied past and modern innovations.

Reinventing luxury travel

Called On the trail of the transatlantic, This first themed flight follows the historical routes of the flying boats, which were known for his or her comfort and luxury.

These opulent aircraft had fuselages that allowed them to take off from and land on water. Pan Am used them primarily before World War II, connecting continents and laying the inspiration for the birth of the fashionable aviation industry long before the development of airports with long runways.

On this reimagined journey, passengers will travel in luxury in full lie-flat Business Class seats on a newly configured Boeing 757 while flying Pan Am’s southern transatlantic route between New York and Marseille and its northern transatlantic route between London and New York.

Other luxurious amenities include a hand-picked crew, “buddy” seating for gathering and socializing, tremendous continental cuisine, and expedited customs/immigration processing at every stopover.

Partnerships with Bartelings and Criterion Travel ensure a seamless five-star experience on site,

The journey begins and ends with gala evenings on the newly renovated Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Along the way in which, guests stay in luxury hotels comparable to Rosewood Bermuda, Four Seasons Ritz in Lisbon, The Savoy in London and Dromoland Castle in Ireland.

Special events planned include a Fado evening in Lisbon, a Fourth of July celebration in London and an exclusive dinner on the Flying Boat and Maritime Museum in Foynes, which houses the world’s only replica B314 flying boat. History buffs and nostalgics will enjoy discussions about Pan Am’s history and heritage.

A vision for the long run

Pan Am’s ambitions extend beyond this maiden voyage. Carter envisions a future where the brand will adorn exclusive airport lounges, private terminals and branded merchandise, offering a brand new dimension of luxury to the travel industry.

To rejoice its a hundredth anniversary in 2027, Pan Am World Airways is planning a personalised private jet trip around the globe.

“The idea of a Pan Am commemorative flight celebrating all that we stood for is a testament to the strength of the brand and what the airline and its employees stood for,” said Linda Freire, chair of the Pan Am Historical Foundation and a former Pan Am flight attendant.

“Pan Am’s legacy and pioneering work in aviation lives on. I can’t wait to see the aircraft take off from JFK in Pan Am livery,” she added.
