Apple more likely to launch best Siri AI features in 2025: report

Although Apple announced some major AI changes to Siri at its WWDC event last month, it’s unclear when those changes will make their approach to iPhone screens. However, a brand new report from Bloomberg chief correspondent Mark Gurman provides clarity on the timeline.

Gurman, who’s a 86.5% accuracy rate of Apple information he leaked previously, wrote in his A Newsletter that while Apple Intelligence AI can be released this fall, the foremost Siri updates won’t arrive until next spring.

This includes allowing Siri to access and work with other Apple apps based on an easy command. For example, if asked, “Hey Siri, what’s my driver’s license number?” Siri will soon find a way to look the Photos app, find an image of the license plate, and even enter the numbers into an internet form.

Another Siri upgrade that is on hold until next 12 months is Siri’s contextual understanding, the power to interpret what an iPhone user is .

Siri can be upgraded with ChatGPT in the autumn and can receive a brand new design, but in line with Gurman, the voice assistant will lack essential contextual functions.

According to the identical report, the Siri update won’t be complete until developers begin beta testing the features in January and Apple publicly releases the upgrade in spring 2025.

The Bloomberg report is consistent with Apple’s public statements.

Apple presented in its Press release from June that Apple Intelligence can be released in beta this fall, but “some features, software platforms, and additional languages will come over the next year.” The high-quality print leaves room for some features to reach later, after Apple Intelligence’s release in the autumn.

Apple entered the AI business almost two years after launching ChatGPT, but decided to take a more collaborative approach to AI development. In addition to developing AI in-house, Apple also decided to integrate ChatGPT directly into its products, opening the doors to AI models from other competitors.
