Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump haven’t all the time gotten along well, but after the previous president survived an assassination attempt over the weekend, Bezos decided to bury the hatchet.

Hours after Trump was injured in a shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, the Amazon founder praised him in a post on X.

“Our former president demonstrated tremendous grace and courage under literal fire tonight. I am so grateful for his safety and so sad for the victims and their families,” Bezos wrote.

Bezos was one in every of several top business leaders who voiced their support for the previous president after the shooting. Founder and investor of Pershing Square Bill Ackman officially endorsed Trump in an extended post on Saturday. Tesla boss Elon Musk also approved Trump and wished him well. In a post on X, he added: “The last time America had such a strong candidate was Theodore Roosevelt.” Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon also sent his condolences to Trump on Monday.

But Donald Trump has not all the time gotten along along with his fellow upper-class residents, and even before Bezos called for peace over the weekend, he was one in every of the previous president’s favorite targets.
