What would you do in case you had a six-figure salary? Maybe you’d never cook one other meal, or treat yourself to a Thai massage and a Soho House membership once a month to alleviate the stress that comes with working at your peak.

Here at The Good Life, you not must imagine what life at the highest is like: get real inspiration on how probably the most successful people live their lives.

Today Assets meets Colin Waggett, CEO of London’s hottest high-end gym Third Space – perhaps higher often known as the place where David Beckham and Prince Harry have worked out. Britain’s answer to Equinox has taken London’s luxury gym market by storm.

Although the primary club only opened in 2001 and costs are hefty at £220-£250 a month, Third Space has quickly built a loyal following amongst millennials, thanks partly to its Instagrammable interior and classes (hello, hot yoga).

Over 35,000

Number of Third Space members.

But so does Waggett’s extensive industry experience: He was CEO of Fitness First for over seven years before opening his own boutique gym, Psycle, which was acquired for an undisclosed amount in 2014.

Under his leadership, Third Space has quadrupled by way of revenue and membership. Last 12 months it secured an £88.5 million money injection to grow the brand to the extent of Equinox, which operates over 40 chic fitness clubs across the pond. Although Third Space has only just opened its eleventh club, it’s already out-of-space for its 35,000-plus members and several other locations now have waiting lists. With high-end gyms all the trend, Waggett’s is personally on the hunt for brand spanking new locations.

Finances

Assets: What was the most effective investment you ever made?

My investment in Third Space. I am unable to let you know how much – but it surely’s an important business.

The worst?

I’ve made a handful of investments in startups that went bankrupt…

Do you carry a wallet with you?

Not since Covid. Apple Pay across the board.

What personal financial advice would you give your 20-year-old self?

Save somewhat frequently, but trust yourself. I’d moderately put money into a business I do know, understand and have a stake in than a fund that invests in corporations I do know nothing about and pays fees to someone I’ve never met.

What subscription are you able to not live without?

Strava – can I actually have two? And Spotify.

Where is your favorite watch from?

Garmin.

What is your favorite wardrobe for work?

Paul Smith, Lulu Lemon, Eton, Vulpine.

If you may have children, what type of childcare do you provide?

My kids are 21 and 18, in order that they can now pick me up from the pub if I want it.

The necessities

How do you commute to work?

I take the train from Winchester – which offers a really productive hour of reading, writing and considering in every respect.

How do you get your every day coffee kick?

I like my Sage espresso machine – homemade coffee is the most effective. One of my colleagues is a complete coffee fanatic and makes sure we decide the most effective cafes wherever we’re in London. The office favourite is Hideaway Coffee House on Brewer Street in Soho.

Do you eat lunch at your desk?

Often, yes. We have our own food market called Natural Fitness Food, or NFF, which is super healthy, macro-controlled, fresh and delicious. My current favorite is the new smoked salmon, which has 38g of protein.

How often do you eat out per week and the way often do you cook at home?

We eat at home five nights and eat out two nights. Luckily my wife is a implausible cook and I normally cook one night on the weekend.

The delicacies

How do you get better from a top job?

I train quite a bit at our clubs (after all!) and cycle across the Hampshire countryside or the mountain ranges of Europe after I get the prospect. I also play golf and participate within the occasional triathlon. And after all, spending time with my family, friends and wine.

What is the most effective extra you may have ever bought?

I all the time need a brand new bike. My newest one is the Pinarello F12.

Take us on holiday with you. What’s next in your holiday list?

3 or 4 ski tours, some downhill, some touring and if I’m lucky, helicopter tours (off-trail where the skier is taken to the highest of the mountain by helicopter). All my family and all my friends are ski mad. I also often go cycling within the mountains with friends. We have a house on the north coast of Cornwall where we will retreat, with dunes, sea and surf as a counterpart – I’m going within the water day-after-day and walk or jog on the cliffs with the family and dog. And then somewhere interesting or hot. Last 12 months it was Sumba and Komodo in Indonesia, this 12 months Croatia. How many is that? Not enough!
