An office employee was rescued after being attacked by colleagues in a Team constructing hike on Mount Shavano in Colorado.
“What could lead to some unpleasant encounters in the office in the coming days and weeks was that a member of their group had to complete his final summit attempt alone,” wrote Search and Rescue in Chaffee County, South on Facebook.

First responders said that when the hiker reached the summit and turned around to move back, his colleagues picked up all of the belongings that they had left behind as markers for the descent.
Then “he lost his bearings,” the rescue team wrote. “Out of concern for himself, he sent a pin to his colleagues who were already descending. These colleagues informed him that his route was wrong and that he would have to climb back up the slope to find the way again,” they added.

After messaging his colleagues, a “strong storm” with freezing rain and wind hit, causing the hiker to develop into disoriented again and causing difficulties for search and rescue teams. Authorities said the hiker also lost his cellular phone signal.

The search involved ground teams, drones and helicopters, but was unsuccessful and the unnamed man (the climbing group’s companions were also not named) spent the night on the mountain.
The next morning, the hiker was capable of call 911 after he had reception again.
“This hiker was incredibly fortunate to have regained cell reception at this point and to still be conscious and able to call 911,” they wrote.
His condition was stable and he was taken to hospital.
