Qatar Airways flight encounters severe turbulence over Turkey, 12 passengers injured, but lands in Dublin as planned

A Qatar Airways flight encountered severe turbulence over Turkey, injuring twelve people on board, before it was in a position to land in Dublin as planned on Sunday.

According to an announcement from Dublin Airport on X, six passengers and 6 crew members were injured on the flight from Doha. Fire and rescue services arrived when the plane arrived just before 1pm local time.

Qatar Airways said in an announcement that the injured on board the Boeing 787 were receiving medical treatment and that the incident was the topic of an internal investigation. “The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority,” the airline said.

On Tuesday, a Singapore Airlines flight en route from London to Singapore was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok after encountering turbulence and suddenly losing altitude. One man died and dozens more were injured on the flight.
