The Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond train
Operated by Belmond, the identical brand that operates Europe’s legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, Southeast Asia’s Eastern & Oriental Express celebrated a triumphant return to the rails initially of the 12 months after a four-year break.
The luxury train, which offers seasonal adventures through Singapore and Malaysia, announced one other major development: a long-term partnership with Dior and a brand new everlasting Dior Spa carriage hitting the rails this month (July 2024). The first Dior spa in Southeast Asia, the brand new spa can be housed in considered one of the train’s 16 carriages and can feature Dior branding, including the House’s iconic Cannage motif incorporated into the woodwork, rose emblems in green and beige within the carpets, and vivid green toile de Jouy-print furniture, curtains and cushions decorated with tigers in homage to Malaysia’s sacred national animal.

The spa takes up the whole carriage and consists of two treatment rooms offering quite a lot of bespoke facial and body treatments, a few of which incorporate meditative exercises or regional influences. For example, the D-Jungle facial and body treatment focuses on the body’s energy meridians, while the Constellation Massage uses Asian massage techniques for muscle and stress relief. Facials use Dior’s Prestige skincare range, and coverings include the Kobi-Dior facial, influenced by the Japanese facial massage technique Kobido. There can be a sublime leisure area with comfortable seating for herbal teas and rest breaks before or after treatment.

This is the third Dior spa to return aboard a Belmond train. The French fashion house also had a brief residency aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, and the primary everlasting Dior spa debuted on the Royal Scotsman in Scotland in April 2023.
