Amazon doesn’t want its employees to consult with other AI chatbots – except Cedric.
A Tuesday Report from Business Insider revealed that Amazon has a brand new internal AI bot called Cedric that securely allows employees to get their questions answered and create document summaries – without ChatGPT. Amazon made the comparison in a leaked internal document, stating that Cedric is “more secure than ChatGPT” and that the tool goals to extend productivity.
Amazon’s caution about third-party chatbots is just not latest. In one Document dated January 2023An Amazon lawyer warned employees to not share Amazon code or confidential information with ChatGPT, writing that there have already been incidents where ChatGPT output matched internal data.
Amazon joins company like Accenture and Edelman in developing tailored AI tools for workers.

Amazon also plans to integrate AI into other areas of its business. Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon Web Services, told employees in August that in the following two years “most developers may not be coding” because AI will fill the gaps.
He said software engineers will likely be more involved in innovating and fascinated by customer needs than programming.
In the second quarter of 2024, Amazon had over 1.5 million Employees.
