What is your favorite neighborhood in New York and why?
Probably the West Village. I just love how quaint it’s, the way it has so many elderly vintage vibes. Like the little streets that lead nowhere, the cobblestone streets, the little cafes, the beautiful little restaurants and the lovable boutiques. At times it almost looks like a movie set.
Can you tell us a few of your favorite places within the Theater District and what makes them so great?
Honestly, a few of my favorite places within the Theater District are sometimes the brand new outdoor places in Times Square to only hang around. Sometimes I prefer to go to the red stairs with my headphones on and just people watch if I actually have time to kill and if the weather is sweet. I like Bryant Park since it’s just a stupendous place to sit down and eat or people watch. There are also many craft fairs and food trucks there; It’s just a pleasant place to sit down and loosen up.
Where is one of the best place to eat before or after going to the theater and why? What dishes are there in each case?
One of my favorite places is Green Symphony and I just like the health salad there. I also love real Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns; The soup dumplings are my favorite, the scallion pancake, the tea egg and the sautéed bok choy.
What is one of the best bar and drink within the Theater District?
I actually have to shout out Hurley’s next to our theater at Longacre, it’s just an ideal and convenient place. It’s an old-fashioned pub atmosphere, all drinks are good. I also love Glass House Tavern because they’ve great snacks and I like their martini.
