The data breach that hit blockchain-based lending giant Figure affected nearly 1,000,000 customers, based on a security researcher.
Last week, Figure confirmed that an information breach allowed hackers to steal “a limited number of files” from its systems. The company didn’t disclose what variety of data was stolen or how many purchasers were affected.
On Wednesday, Troy Hunt, a security researcher and creator of the privacy alert site Have I Been Pwned, analyzed the information allegedly taken from Figure and found It contained 967,200 unique email addresses related to Figure customers.
The data also included customer names, dates of birth, physical addresses and telephone numbers.
Figure didn’t reply to a request for comment and didn’t reply to an issue about whether the corporate disputes Hunt’s findings.
Cybercrime group ShinyHunters told TechCrunch last week that it was chargeable for the cyberattack on Figure. The group published 2.5 gigabytes of knowledge allegedly stolen from Figure on its leak website, where the hackers shame their victims and publish stolen data in the event that they fail to extort the hacked corporations.
