This addition will allow passengers to travel faster via its hub. The route will probably be served as much as six times a day in each direction, in comparison with 4 times a day this summer. When you fly from London Heathrow with Finnair, you should have the chance to experience the airline’s long-haul product on some flights, complete with the non-reclining Air Lounge seat and in-flight entertainment. The airline will offer as much as two connections per day to Helsinki on long-haul aircraft. Anssi Partanen, Finnair’s Market Director within the UK, said: “We are incredibly excited to extend capability between London and Helsinki and deepen the connection between the UK and Finland.

“London has at all times been a vital city for Finnair and our customers, so we’re delighted to announce this news ahead of the seventieth anniversary of the London-Helsinki route in September.

“The new flights are also timed to give our customers more choice and flexibility when travelling during the morning and evening peak hours and to enable even smoother connecting flights to our network in Northern Europe and the Far East.”

Finnair has also recently accomplished the renovation of its Schengen Lounge to enhance the prevailing non-Schengen lounges utilized by customers travelling to the UK and on long-haul flights. Passengers now have a cushty place to calm down when departing to countries within the European Schengen Area. The lounge is positioned on the Schengen side of Helsinki Airport, near Gate 21, and offers all aviation lovers a implausible view of the runway. The space has been expanded with 440 seats and offers various areas for eating, resting and dealing. There can also be an exclusive Platinum Corner for Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo members.

Business Class Classic and Flex ticket holders and Finnair Plus Gold members (and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members) can get free access to the brand new lounge. Lounge access can also be available to all customers via the Finnair website or the Finnair app.

On the non-Schengen side, passengers have a big lounge to calm down in, complete with a bar and a buffet of cold and hot food. For those with status, the Platinum lounge offers a good more luxurious option, with a trendy cocktail bar serving champagne and native spirits, a restaurant serving Finnish specialties reminiscent of the reindeer burger, and even a sauna.
