“I just tried to capture her name and all the names of the governors from the heart of the country that came to mind,” Eche told the Related Press. “The Harris campaign has hundreds of millions of dollars at its disposal, so if they don’t buy their own domain, it’s kind of on them.”
Harris officially announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz became her running mate on Tuesday.
Eche said he’s willing to sell the domain and other Harris-related web sites he owns for $15,000 if Harris’ camp is interested. And based on Eche’s past experience, it may very well be value it.
In 2011, Eche bought ClintonKaine.comfive years before Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine decided to run together within the 2016 election. After Clinton’s team refused to pay for the domain, Eche sold it for $15,000 to what he initially thought was a digital marketing firm but now believes to be Donald Trump’s campaign team, which used the domain to spread negative news about Clinton.
“Hopefully (Harris’) people are a little smarter than Clinton’s people,” Eche said AP.
