How to guide and manage your team in times of crisis

With the economic uncertainty plaguing our society, strong and authentic leadership is critical. Effective leaders are needed in any respect levels of society who create a transparent and provoking vision, gain trust and exhibit compassion.

Having built an award-winning company with over 100 employees and built greater than 6,000 homes, I even have thought loads about leadership and management. The truth is that the demands of leadership in difficult times aren’t any different than in “normal” times.

Our vision was easy: “The TW Lewis Company will be the best home building company in America as measured by product quality, customer satisfaction and profitability.” That vision was the muse of my leadership – a vision that expressed my dream, my values ​​and my personal journey – and it also inspired all of our employees.

Trustworthiness: Can I trust you?

Think of somebody you actually admire and respect. I think that person is trustworthy. Trustworthiness is clear in each their intentions and their competence. They do what they promise. The same is true of leadership. Real leaders are trustworthy. They do what they promise.

A more moderen example of a “leader” who failed on this regard is Adam Neumann, the fired CEO of WeWork. The 4 fundamentals of management
