Most people don’t love asking others for help.

You don’t need to feel such as you’re a burden or obligated to another person.

But I learned from my Rich Habits research that self-made millionaires have learned to be uncomfortable with quite a lot of things. Asking for help was one in every of the things they felt very comfortable with.

They sought assist in the shape of mentoring, skilled expertise, utilizing individuals’ skills/knowledge, looking for wisdom and advice from others, or looking for financial or non-financial support.

When I became president The Ashley Lauren Foundationa nonprofit that helps families fighting childhood cancer, I needed to ask people for money.

That made me uncomfortable. It took practice, but after a few years of working with the Ashley Lauren Foundation, I’ve gotten pretty good at asking for charity.

Interestingly, entering into the habit of asking for money had a positive impact on my other businesses. It gave me confidence to ask others for help.

.

What I discovered interesting and unexpected is that asking others for help has in some way strengthened my relationship with them. We became closer. The roots of the connection tree grew deeper.

Asking for help creates a special bond between two people; a singular connection that essentially says:

So get comfortable asking for help. If you are uncomfortable with this, like I’m, join a nonprofit. Over time, you’ll turn out to be comfortable asking for help, which is a wealthy habit of self-made millionaires. It is a habit that improves your enterprise, job or profession.
