Cirque du Soleil announced this on Tuesday Love the Beatles The run at the previous Mirage Hotel ends on July seventh this yr. The hugely popular show has been a staple on the Strip for 18 years and was the one live show licensed to make use of the Beatles’ music catalog.

After being purchased by Hard Rock Las Vegas, the Mirage is currently undergoing renovations. Although the show was expected to run until at the very least the tip of the yr, officials say the choice to finish it was out of their hands they usually only learned of the choice late last week. About 230 forged and crew members will lose their jobs consequently of the closure.

“It wasn’t our decision,” said Stéphane Lefebvre, CEO of Cirque du Soleil told that Las Vegas Review Journal. “As you know, Hard Rock needs to take control of the entire venue and undertake some major renovations. So they have to close the show by July 7th.”

There are currently no plans to create a touring version of the show.

Love featured remixes of most of the Beatles’ best-known songs, in addition to the acrobatics for which Cirque is thought. It explores a variety of topics, from the cultural changes of the ’60s to the band’s many personalities.

It tells stories of loss, corresponding to “A Day in the Life,” wherein a young boy portraying John Lennon dreams of his mother and witnesses her death. (This song ends with a clock on the stage running backwards, stopping exactly 10 minutes before 10, the time Lennon died after being shot in New York.) It also tells stories of hope, corresponding to everlasting optimism of the Nowhere Man He is in search of someone who will accept the easy gift of a flower.

However, throughout the show there’s an awesome feeling of optimism, joy and… well, love. Fans kept coming back to see the show, some even 15 times or more.
