Members of Samsung’s largest union have gone on indefinite strike after negotiations over salaries and bonuses failed.
The strike by the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) could ultimately result in the unemployment of 31,000 employees, almost 1 / 4 of the corporate’s entire South Korean workforce. However, the variety of those currently on strike is far smaller.
About 6,000 employees went on strike from Monday but were as a result of return to work on Thursday. Industrial motion is something recent for Samsung. Activists have long accused the corporate of union busting. A one-day strike in June was the primary industrial motion the corporate has ever experienced.
