Once the merchant accepts your money, the funds will likely be transferred to your Chime account. If you utilize a retailer aside from Walgreens and Duane Reade, money deposit fees may apply.
You can robotically transfer a portion of your direct deposits of $1 or more out of your checking account to your chosen Chime account(s).

Except at FCTI® ATMs situated at a 7-Eleven® or Speedway location, or at an Allpoint® or Visa® Plus Alliance ATM participating within the Allpoint Network, fees may apply for withdrawals from out-of-network and over-the-counter ATMs.

With qualifying direct deposits, you will earn 5% money back as a Chime Prime member or 2% money back as a Chime Plus member on as much as $1,500 of eligible secured Chime Visa® bank card purchases. Early access to direct deposit funds relies on the timing of the payer’s submission of the payment file. We typically make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which could also be as much as 2 days before the scheduled payment date.
The 3.75% Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is just available to members with Chime Prime status. Otherwise, either the three.00% APY for Chime Plus status members or the usual rate of 0.75% APY applies. The effective annual rates of interest apply from February 26, 2026, are variable and might change at any time. No minimum balance required. To earn interest, you have to have $0.01 in savings. To qualify for Chime Prime status, you have to have received greater than $3,000 in qualified direct deposits into your Chime checking account within the last 34 days. To qualify for Chime Plus status, you’ll either 1) receive a single qualifying direct deposit of $200; or 2) cumulative qualified direct deposits of greater than $400 into your Chime checking account prior to now 34 days. Additional eligibility requirements apply to certain products marketed as perks. While some advantages can have fees related to them, none of those fees are mandatory to access the advantages or maintain applicable status. Based on a representative study by Experian® in September 2025, the highest 10% of members who made their first purchase with Credit Builder, a previous version of the Chime Card, between April and August 2024 saw their FICO® Score 8 increase by 71 points after roughly 8 months. Average increase of 28 points across all study participants. An improvement in creditworthiness is just not guaranteed. Paying on time can increase your rating, while paying late can lower your rating. Other credit activity may affect your rating. Creditworthiness is one among many aspects lenders may consider when evaluating loan applications.
SpotMe® on Credit is an optional, interest- and fee-free overdraft line of credit tied to the secured deposit account. SpotMe on Debit is an optional, fee-free service associated along with your Chime checking account (individually or collectively, “SpotMe”). To qualify for SpotMe, qualifying direct deposits of $200 or more are required into your Chime checking account every month. Eligible members may overdraw their Chime checking account and/or secured deposit account as much as a complete of $20. However, they could later be eligible for a better aggregate limit of as much as $200 or more based on the member’s Chime account history, frequency and amount of direct deposits, spending activity, and other risk-based aspects. Your SpotMe limit will likely be visible to you within the Chime mobile app. You will likely be notified of any changes to your SpotMe limit. SpotMe for Credit and SpotMe on Debit share a single SpotMe limit. Your SpotMe limit could also be modified at any time on the discretion of Chime or its banking partners. Although there aren’t any overdraft fees, there could also be out-of-network or third-party fees related to ATM transactions or OTC money withdrawal fees at retailers. Funds added to the Chime Card™ are stored in a secured custodial account as security in your Chime Card and it’s possible you’ll spend as much as that quantity. You can use the funds deposited in your Backup Account to pay your fees at the top of every month.
To apply for a Chime Card, a Chime® checking account is required.
To be eligible for a savings account, a Chime® checking account is required. You can robotically transfer a portion of your direct deposits of $1 or more out of your checking account to your chosen Chime account(s).
Round-Ups robotically round up debit card purchases to the closest dollar and transfer the rounded amount out of your Chime checking account to your savings account.
