Around 10 a.m. Monday, Verizon users began reporting outages social media and to Down detector that they don’t have any service apart from SOS mode. Verizon confirmed the “issue impacting service” at 11:48 a.m.

The problem has continued since its peak this morning, when there have been greater than 100,000 requests – Tom’s guide reports that the number has dropped to the 40,000 range.
Reuters Reports that the FCC is investigating and “working to determine the cause and extent of these service interruptions.”

The massive Verizon outage appears to be the case throughout the USA with users from California to Ohio to Florida reporting problems.
Does Verizon know in regards to the problem?
The company is aware of the difficulty but has not publicly explained what caused the outage. To his website and social media, Verizon said network engineers are working to discover and resolve the difficulty.
Is AT&T also down?
Although users also reported issues with AT&T, the corporate said there have been no outages and it was only a residual effect.
We usually are not experiencing a nationwide outage. Our national network is functioning normally. Down Detector likely reflects our customers’ issues trying to hook up with users on a distinct network.

SOS mode occurs when your phone cannot connect with a network. However, users should still have the opportunity to call 911.
